David Bowie: Finding Fame, also known as David Bowie: The First Five Years, takes audiences back to the extraordinary years in which an unknown young musician named David Jones began the transformation that would make him David Bowie — and ultimately one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Francis Whately, the 2019 documentary follows Bowie from 1965, when he abandoned the name Davie Jones and adopted the name Bowie, through the remarkable creative journey that culminated in 1973 with the retirement of his legendary Ziggy Stardust persona
It is a story of ambition, reinvention, artistic risk and the relentless search for a new identity.
