Sound of Air – with Per Maning and Nils Petter Molvær

Everybody Digs Bill Evans

From 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm on October 29th at the Halden Kino, we are pleased to welcome you to join HIMF for a Night of Jazz.

The evening will begin with a screening of Sound of Air. It is a story about what happens when a musician and a visual artist meet? Between music as sound and the sounds of nature that accompany the film's images - for mutual inspiration.

The film is a collaboration between the distinguished visual artist and photographer Per Maning and the internationally renowned jazz musician and composer Nils-Petter Molvær. Following the film, Director Maning will lend his perspectives, followed by a short performance by Molvær.

Following a short intermission, we will screen the internationally acclaimed Everybody Digs Bill Evans. In the film, Evans forms his perfect trio, recording two groundbreaking albums. But when his brilliant young bassist dies tragically, Evans is devastated. The story follows Evans' journey to overcome grief and return to music.
